Giddy Up, it’s time to Play Bingo

It’s another busy year for Playtech even though the planned takeover didn’t go through. They have linked up with Betfred to launch ‘Giddy Up Bingo.’ As you might have already guessed, this is a new bingo game but with a horse racing theme.

The 50-ball multi-stake game is exclusive to Betfred players and simulates a horse race. It might not quite be the Derby but if it gets you some good wins, there aren’t likely to be many complaints.

Rather than the usual bingo balls, there are numbered horses and jockeys. When a number is called, the horses and their jockeys gallop off-screen. You can choose one of four horses and each of these has a different ticket price. The amount you can win varies with the stake that you make.

The Bingo Manager at Betfred is Joni Keelings. Speaking about the launch of the new game she said: “We’re very proud to offer Giddy Up Bingo as an exclusive, and there has been a highly positive player reaction to its launch.

“To be able to work closely with Playtech to deliver something unique for our players adds great value to our partnership, and we’re delighted with the results.”

It’s been a big month for horse racing with the Cheltenham Festival. The excitement doesn’t stop now that’s over though. April sees the Grand National take place on the ninth and the new flat season will be underway.

Playtech’s Director of Digital Bingo Angus Nisbet is confident the game will continue to be a success. “Our development team has done a fantastic job with Giddy Up Bingo. With the horseracing season in full swing, it’s no surprise to see such a strong early reaction to Giddy Up Bingo — but we’re confident this is a variant players will enjoy all year round.”

The release of this new bingo game is the latest good news for Playtech. Earlier this year they were given the exclusive US rights for The Million Dollar Drop brand. Even better news is that they will hold the rights for Deal or No Deal Bingo for a further five years. Recently Playtech launched their live casino facilities in New Jersey and Michigan.

Sasha Uman, Director of Live Business Development at Playtech spoke about the US expansion and the importance of their partnership with international content producer Banijay. “It is core to our strategy and growth in the US that Playtech live delivers the highest levels of live gaming experiences, and through partnering with Banijay we are bringing the most engaging and innovative products, technologies and brands to new markets and audiences.”
