Betway are continuing to sign up more deals with overseas teams. Their most recently announced deals have been with German Bundesliga team Stuttgart and South African Rugby (SA Rugby).
The latter of those deals sees them becoming the associate partner of the South African national team. A three-year deal has been arranged and this will see there being Betway branding at South African home games at Ellis Park.
Betway are the first online gambling site to forge such a partnership with SA Rugby. The deal also sees their name being on the back of the players’ shirts.
Jurie Roux is the CEO of SA Rugby and sees this partnership as a chance to “work together in bringing our passionate fans even close to the game.” He hopes that their working with Betway will “stretch beyond the four white lines of a rugby field.” Roux said that Betway have “some exciting new initiatives” that will be announced in the months to come.
The partnership will begin with South Africa’s Rugby Championship match against Argentina this Saturday. They will be hoping to build on the success of the 2-1 series win over the British Lions.
Betway CEO Anthony Werkman says it is “a great honour” to become a sponsor of the Springboks who he calls one of “the biggest names in sport.” He added: “The Springboks are painted in history and with rugby being a popular sport around the globe, we’re proud to take a step into international rugby sponsorship.
The deal come swiftly after the announcement of an exclusive three-year deal with Vfb Stuttgart. There will be Betway branding at their Mercedes-Benz Arena on LED screens and cam carpets. Betway will have activation rights as part of this new sponsorship deal.
Anthony Werkman, Betway CEO, commented: “VfB Stuttgart is one of Germany’s most successful football clubs and we’re very proud to become its premium partner on an initial three-year deal.
This agreement reflects our ambitions as a brand, as the Bundesliga is recognised around the world as one of the biggest football leagues. We’re delighted to have further association with it for Betway, a brand that is synonymous in the highest profile sports and teams around the globe. Stuttgart finished in the top half of the Bundesliga last season and we’re looking forward to working with the club as it strives for further success in Germany’s top flight.”
Betway just keep on announcing sponsorship deals. They are already the official partner of Premier League sides West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Leicester City. In addition to that they are the official partner of the Cheltenham Festival, the Grand National and of course we can’t forget Ninjas in Pyjamas.
