Betfred Expand Links with Rugby League and NFL

There may still be criticism from some quarters about the links between gambling companies and sport but that’s not stopping Betfred. They have been busy signing new sponsorship deals in both Europe and the USA.

They have already been sponsoring the Super League and have now extended that deal for a couple more years. Betfred’s association with the Super League began seven years ago. It’s the longest ongoing title sponsorship in top-flight European rugby.

Fred Done is both the chair and owner of Betfred. Speaking about the sponsorship renewal, he explained why they enjoy working with rugby league. He referred to “the passion and enthusiasm shown by the fans, media and everybody involved in the spot.” As a result, he had “absolutely no hesitation” in extending the sponsorship deal.

August of this year saw Betfred secure the title sponsorship of all three Challenge Cup competitions. These being the men’s, women’s and wheelchair event.

Rhodri Jones is also pleased with the deal. He’s the Chief Commercial Officer of Super League. He spoke about how Betfred are “outstanding headline partners” and it’s great to work with someone like Fred Done who is “so passionate about the Super League.”

Betfred will also work with Super League on the ‘Gamble Responsible’ campaign. This can be seen at all Super League matches.

The company have also extended their links across the pond. Their US subsidiary, Betfred Sports, has a deal now with the Denver Broncos. Part of the deal will see them open a tent at the South Lawn that is outside the Broncos’ ground. This will be there for all the remaining games of the new NFL season.

There will be meet and greet sessions with Rod Smith. He won two Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos so will have a few stories to tell while being photographed and giving signed pictures to the fans. Fans will also be able to watch NFL games in the tent and that’s not all. There will be the opportunity to see live odds, earn free bets and some drinks too.

All of which delights the COO of Betfred Sports, Bryan Bennet. He said: “This will be a great opportunity to really interact with fans and inform attendees who Betfred Sports is and what we have to offer.” Mac Freeman (Broncos Chief Commercial Officer) believes this is a “one-of-a-kind pregame experience.”

Bennet was appointed to his position two years ago. It’s all part of the US expansion of Betfred. This is something several UK companies have been doing since the changes in the US gambling industry.
