Can Leicester Get their First League Win this Weekend?

There are seven remaining Premier League fixtures being played this weekend. After the postponement of games last weekend, there are some vital fixtures being played between Friday September 16 and Sunday September 18. Let’s look at the key games with the latest odds.

Friday September 16

Nottingham Forest v Fulham (8pm)

This is the kind of game that both these clubs need to win. Forest are one off the bottom of the table with just four points. Their only win came at home to inconsistent West Ham but despite all the new arrivals, a relegation battle is already on the cards for them.

They lost their last home game 3-2 to Bournemouth. Not what they were expecting when leading 2-0 at half time. You can get odds of 7/4 at 888sport to get a vital win over Fulham but with 14 goals already conceded, can they keep the Londoners out?

Fulham have made a good start to the season with two wins in their first six games. That’s taken them to 10th in the table but two of their last three league fixtures have ended in defeat. Although nine goals have been scored, they’ve also conceded the same amount. It’s 6/4 at William Hill that they win at Forest. A bet on them doing so with both teams scoring looks good, that’s 4/1 at Betfair.

Aston Villa v Southampton (8pm)

Aston Villa are 17th but only out of the relegation zone on goal difference. They have four points from six games, three of those coming in their home win over Everton. The last four games have only produced one point but that was a home draw with Manchester City. Will they be able to build on that? It’s even money at BetVictor that they can beat Southampton.

The Saints begin the weekend in 12th but a win here could take them as high as sixth. They are an inconsistent team with two wins and a couple of defeats in their last four league fixtures. Paddy Power gives odds of 12/5 on them winning at Villa Park. A bet on both teams to score looks a winner and that’s 4/6 at Unibet.

Saturday September 17

Tottenham v Leicester (5.30pm)

If Manchester City fail to win at Wolves earlier in the day, Tottenham can go top of the table with a home win over Leicester. The London club are 4/9 at Ladbrokes to get the home win. They need to bounce back from the midweek Champions League loss at Sporting but this looks an ideal opportunity. They have won all their home league games this season with seven goals scored in three games.

Leicester City are rock bottom of the Premier League. They have lost all three away matches with 11 goals conceded. Brendan Rodgers may well be on his way out of the club if they suffer another heavy loss. Only two of their last 17 away league games have been won and it’s 6/1 at Coral they can win. That looks unlikely and a better bet is on Tottenham to win with over 2.5 goals in the game, that’s 21/20 at BetVictor.

Other tips for the weekend include a City win at Wolves (1/3 at Betfair), Everton to draw with West Ham (23/10 at Betfred), Newcastle to beat Bournemouth (4/9 at 888sport) and Arsenal to win at Brentford (3/4 at Paddy Power).
