Betway have announced a new sponsorship deal with German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. The online gambling site will now be their official betting partner. It’s just one of several sponsorship deals they have with football teams around Europe.
The deal will be a very visible one with LED screens and cam carpets displaying the Betway brand. It won’t just be Bundesliga games where this will be seen at the Deutsche Bank Park stadium. Frankfurt have made it into the 2021/22 Europa League group stages.
It’s going to be a big year for Betway in the Europa League. Not only do they sponsor Frankfurt but also Premier League clubs Leicester City and West Ham United. Both have made it to the group stages of the Europa League. Betway also sponsor Brighton and Hove Albion, but they can only dream of European football.
This deal between Betway and the German Bundesliga team will also be good news for Frankfurt fans. They will need to be on the look out for promotional content and offers during the three-year deal.
Betway have expressed their desire to support top sporting events and sign sponsorship deals with top football clubs. Their CEO is Anthony Werkman, speaking about the deal, he said: “We’re excited to be partnering with Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, in a multi-year agreement. Bundesliga is one of the most recognised football leagues globally; therefore, it will be a great privilege to see the growing presence of the Betway brand at the Deutsche Bank Park Stadium.”
Their Head of Marketing for Germany is Maik Brodowski and he’d understandably happy with this new deal. “We’re really looking forward to supporting them on their journey, both domestically and in Europe,” he said.
Axel Hellmann, Spokesman of the Board of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG, said of the deal: “We are entering into a strategic partnership with Betway in a difficult phase, which makes it even more significant. We are pleased we will make a positive contribution to Betway’s further growth, with our emotions and brand strength around our club.”
It’s not just football clubs that Betway sponsor. This year has seen them get involved with several tennis tournaments held in Germany. This has included the Mercedes Cup and the Hamburg Open. The online gambling company are also involved with cricket, sponsoring Surrey CCC. Their sponsorship portfolio also includes US sides such as the LA Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors.
All of this helps the company get their name known around the world. However, there is still plenty of opposition towards the links between gambling and sports clubs. The number of sports clubs they sponsor in a few years time may be a very different list, especially in England.
