Sponsorship of sports events by gambling companies is still a controversial subject. However the links continue to be made, either renewing current ones or creating new partnerships.
888sport have announced that they have signed a new sponsorship deal with the NFL. They are already the official betting partner in the UK and Ireland for the American Football league. This new deal will see them continue that agreement until 2025.
You won’t have to go to the USA to see evidence of the NFL sponsorship. October sees the NFL London Games take place. This will see regular season matches being played at both the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley.
Those attending the matches will see the 888sport branding on the exterior of the stadiums. Once inside, they won’t fail to miss the LED advertising boards all displaying information about 888sport.
If you’re not going to the NFL matches in London, then you can watch them at home. Television coverage will see a “strong brand presence” for 888sport.
The vice president and head of sport at 888sport is Kieran Spellman. Speaking about the deal, he said the company are “delighted” and will play a part in the “continual growth and success” of NFL in the UK and Ireland.” He added the partnership will “bring 888sport closer to the heart of live sport.”
The NFL UK commercial senior director Michelle Webb believes the deal with 888sport is good news for the sport. “We look forward to working with them on innovative ways to create touchpoints that will resonate with our fans and help us to reach a broadening audience.”
We have a while to wait for the new NFL season, but baseball fans are enjoying the MLB at present. American gambling company Caesars Entertainment have announced the signing of a deal with the Chicago White Sox.
This sees them becoming the official sports betting partner of the baseball side. The deal continues the expansion of Caesars in the US state of Illinois. Caesars Entertainment and Caesars Sportsbook will be able to use the official White Sox logos and marks on their marketing material. This includes digital and social media assets and rotational LED signs.
Those using Caesars for their betting will also be able to access exclusive White Sox experiences via the Caesars Rewards loyalty program. Tom Reeg (Caesars Entertainment SEO) believes it is the “perfect time” to link up with the Chicago White Sox.
He added that they can provide fans of the White Sox and sports lovers in Illinois with “the very best in sports experiences through our world-class resorts and the recent relaunch of the Caesars Sportsbook app.
The White Sox will begin to have Caesars as part of their marketing strategy. This will see them featured in team merchandise and experiences with “unmatched rewards” available.
